There are two basic types of Cablenet system: the single frame system which involves the custom design of a virtual floor® to fit non-standard shapes, sizes or other requirements; and the modular system, in which a number of standard tension wire grids are installed, one by one, in order to fill the space required.

Each Cablenet type has its own benefits. Although an individual single frame virtual floor® is limited in size to around 625sq.m., it will be relatively light and require little intrusive steelwork. The modular tension wire grid on the other hand provides greater load capacity and can accommodate any size of installation, but these Cablenets are heavier and can restrict lighting opportunities.
